Keeping Your HVAC System Free and Clear

After our heater stopped working altogether last winter, we realized that it might be time to consult with a professional. We called a family friend who is also an HVAC contractor and he came out right away to see what he could do. After taking a look at things, he told us that our vents were almost completely blocked with dust and dirt. He recommended a vent cleaning company to come out and help, and they removed loads of debris the next day with specialized suction tools. After that, our HVAC system ran almost perfectly. This blog is all about the importance of keeping your HVAC system free, clear, and functional.

Understanding The Different Types Of HVAC Equipment Sold By Dealers

HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air conditioning) systems are essential for maintaining comfortable indoor temperatures and air quality. HVAC dealers offer a wide range of equipment to meet the needs of different spaces and budgets. If you go to a dealer, here's some of the HVAC equipment you're likely to find for sale.

Furnaces

Furnaces are among the most common type of heating equipment used in homes and businesses. They work by burning fuel (usually natural gas) to generate heat, which is then distributed through the building's ductwork.

Furnaces are available in different sizes and efficiency levels, and dealers can help customers choose the right furnace for their specific needs.

Air Conditioners

Air conditioners are common cooling equipment used in homes and businesses. They work by removing heat from the indoor air and transferring it outside, resulting in cooler temperatures.

The air conditioners that HVAC dealers sell are usually whole-house systems. Window and portable units are smaller than what these businesses normally service and sell.

Heat Pumps

Heat pumps are a versatile kind of HVAC equipment that can be used for both heating and cooling. They work by transferring heat between the indoor and outdoor air, depending on the desired temperature.

Heat pumps historically haven't been efficient in cold climates, but that's quickly changing. An HVAC dealer who specializes in heat pumps might have a model that's suitable for even frigid weather.

Ductless Systems

Ductless systems, also known as mini-split systems, are a type of HVAC equipment that does not require ductwork. They consist of an outdoor unit and one or more indoor units and are ideal for spaces where ductwork is impractical or impossible.

Boilers

Boilers are heating equipment that uses water or steam to generate heat. They are commonly used in homes and businesses that have radiators or in-floor heating systems.

Boilers are common in commercial buildings and multi-unit industrial buildings. They're usually larger equipment that can heat many rooms relatively efficiently. An HVAC dealer who's well-versed in boilers can also help special order a boiler for a yacht.

Indoor Air Quality Equipment

Indoor air quality equipment is designed to improve the quality of the air inside a building. This includes air purifiers, humidifiers, dehumidifiers, and ventilation systems.

Dealers can help customers choose the right indoor air quality equipment for their specific needs, based on factors such as the size of the space and the level of air pollution.
